Has anybody ever noticed that in certain cars ie. Ford Probe, Mitsu Eclipse, Audi, etc. that when the dors are closed that the dome light doesn't go out, it dims? Is there a special module that does this? Anytbody know where to find it? I really want this in my Blazer. Thanks

You need a variable resistor if you want to run something that fades like that. Basically, a variable resistor is like a dimmer switch that some people have in their houses where you can vary the brightness of light, except the variable resistor will do it automatically, almost like weening the amount of power lower and lower until the power is completely off..

Yeah, but a VR is manually operated. How do you automate that?

A capacitor will charge up while the door is open, and once closed slowly go down as it loses power to the light. Making the light dim until completely losing all power. Once the door is opened again the capacitor will charge...etc..etc..etc...so on and so forth. blah blah blah..yanky spanky danky. :smoker:
