Did anybody see these things yet? They're SICK The rubber surround is HUGE, the basket is crazy, and the magnet is insane. We had 1 12" rocking the stereo store....

Wicked they are. You have to remove to surround to mount them, the screw holes are behind the surround to give you the most cone area.I'd love to hear them in person.

The spl number you are talking about is only the sensativity of a speaker measured when playing 1 watt of power at one meter distance. Some louder SPL speakers have a relatively low sensativity because of the high compliance needed in the suspension to produce higher throws and handle more power.
The sensativity is usually better used on mids and tweets but the manufacturers always put them on their subs.
You will however need the sensitivity to correctly design an enclosure for the subs and to model the response.
Hope this helps.
I studied subs in college my senior design project was to design and build one.
I still think MTX stole our ideas on there lastest subs. They are a spitting image of our prototype and I was in contact with some of there engineering staff.

The nicest part is that the box doesnt have to be to big. The price will come down soon. The W7 is definatley original.

i hate to be the bearer of bad news but ,i know this kid at one of the local stereo shops with an 89 jimmy he got a hold of 2 12's w7s and hooked them up in his truck and he kept sayin oh ill kill neone with my system , so one day i went up to the shop and had an amateur sound off with him and sorry to say guys but my 2 12" Eclipses beat his two J.L. Audio w7's because J.L has cleaner smoother sounding bass but eclipse is just raw power and if u think it was b/c he had a bad amp he didnt he had a Rockford Fosgate 800a2 amp to each sub if u have ne questions just post them and ill gladly reply dont hate b/c i beat your fav. subs u never heard

Dude of course they are. the Eclipse's are insane. Did you ever hear of the Eclipse 18" titanium series? just one of those subs ran a 170+ i think on DB's.
