hey just wondering how much hp a stock 89 4.3 has i have been told the new ones just pust out under 200 like 195 but i thought you guys would know better

Thats probably a TBI motor, which is 160 hp. If its not TBI, 180. Only the newer vortech motor had 185+

so mine being a automatic are you sayin 180??

no no no, not an automatic.. the type of fuel injection. If it is throttle body injection (the circular air filter on top of the engine) is about 160, Central Port Injection (CPI, the air filter in the front right hand part of the engine compartment) is runnin near 180...

ok im runnin 160 then cuz mines on top of the engine but ya hahahah i beat a prelude tonite it was funny it looked like he had running boards off of a mini van as side skirts
