ha, you think I can afford one. Its gonna be twice as long before I can now. The money I was gonna spend on the heads and cam, will be going to the short block.

No,I don't think so. What does that have to do with this?

Now I think I got what I want now.

    383 stroker
    190 or 195 AFR heads
    224/230@.050 duration roller cam
    9.6 compression
    Edelbrock RPM AIR gap manifold
    holley 750

American Speed built a motor almost identical to this using the AFR 190 heads. But, they used a flat tappet cam. They made 471 hp@5500 and 515 ft lbs of tq at 4500. Over 400+ ft lbs from 2500-6000 rpm.

Man, I gotta start putting some hours in. Its gonna be next summer before I can even afford a short block.

You'll know what it looks like when I pass your slow butt. It will have your paint all over it from me passing your butt so fast. hehe...J/K dude. Had to throw something at you cause nobody else is fastest enough to challenge you. Well, not that I know of.:bigthumb:

I came into this alittle late, but I am pretty sure all ZZ4's use a nodular iron crank. Not cast, but not true forged either. Somewhere in between.

Now for your curent plans. If your going for a new short block, then just go 400. It will cost the same. You want to use a 2-bolt block, and add splayed 4 bolt caps. And now that your in Big Block size you need big block air flow, so look at the AFR 210's. With 10:1 CR, 240-250 cam, your looking at 520hp range. Also the 210's will help if you ever to add a Pro Charger, but then you will need a new block too.

    Later
    Steve
