    air shocks

okay i read the 7 page air shock post that went on who knows when and got curious. Are air shocks okay to ride all the time or are they more made to be inflated when the back is carryign weight? Could i drop my truck near frame in the rear and then pump those up to prevent it from hitting frame and to get a better ride? Thanks for th e help in advance.

They are intended to be an assastant to your suspension rather than actually be your suspension. How I have mine now is with just 1 leaf spring in the rear. It rides how it did stock (in my opinion) but I wouldn't carry or haul anything in it without more leaf springs.

You would NEED airshocks. Because a monoleaf is only there to hold the axle in place. It doesn't do much load bearing. I have a monoleaf and 3" blocks and I can slam the frame to the axle no problem. But then I air up and it rides like a champ. I don't have my frame notched yet though. So take that into consideration of how low you want to go.

Yup air shocks are a must. My truck is monoleafed w/ a 4" block and if I let all the air outta the shocks the frame sits on the axel.

my back of my truck was all stripped out when i had air shocks and it rode really stiff with 160psi. it was way too much lift for me and looked wierd all the way aired up. make sure you use 4" blocks otherwise you might not be able to get as low and youll get to much lift without the bigger blocks

That will work fine if its a 2wd and not a 4x4.

You wont get cheaper than $$$50$ at autozone with a lifetime guarantee. No matter what they take them back....I have 4"blocks and 3-2, in the front and have yet to ride on them but it takes it up at least an inch in my shop. I just have a dumb hose to fill up at the fenderwell. Should i get a comp. and 3gallon tank with some valves. I think that would take care of my rear and i plan on bags for the front but mid-summer. With a big tank and cheap compressor along with the small amount ot air the shocks take it would not hurt a 20% compressor would it?
