There's a little truth to what he's saying. Vinegar contains an acid which helps clean ( or dissolve) gunk.

I have heard that you can use vinegar to get water spots off the paint, but not chrome. I am sure you can probably use it on the chrome and get the same outcome, but if you want to clean your chrome rims its best to just use a clay bar. Its not real expensive and this is the best method to use to get all the dirt out of the pores and make the chrome surface smooth and clean. The clay bar wont do any damage to the chrome. Its always good to polish the surface after any hard cleaning to keep it protected.

Interesting fact about coca-cola is you can use it to get the corrosion off of battery terminals, it will eat grease, and it will also eat through metal if allowed to sit on it for a measured amount of time. Good stuff eh?

I dont' think it will clean very well. Maybe a little touch up. Doubt its gonna take off brake dust and such road grime.

Window cleaner does work excellent for after polishing, or to shine them up,or remove water spots.
