Just wondering cause I never heard of channeling. And it kinda sounds like the traditional in that you cut the floor around the frame and whatnot. Whats the differences between the 3.

I know stock floor is just that. You make a new frame and stuff for it. But what do you do about mounts and the readend and tranny and all that.

Traditional is cutting the floor and rasing that up and the rest of the body down. You lose headroom= to the amount of body drop.

    1. Traditional body drop: This is the bodydrop that you all see and know.Cutting the floor out and raising it up.You lose headroom depending on the amount of drop.Basically is the simplest way of dropping the body on any truck.Requires least amount of actually work.

2.Stock floor body drop: This is where you take the amount of drop out of the frame instead of the body. When ya do it this way you still have to raise the tranny tunnel and driveshaft tunnel. Also can create problems with trying to run exhaust due to lack of room under the truck. Some trucks take stock floors WAY better than others. For example a fullsize chevy takes one with much less work than a s10.Stock flooring a foreign is just plain idiotic IMO.

3.Channeling: The way hot rodders did it WAY back when and where the traditional body drop actually came from.Kinda a combination of the above two really. They lower the body mounts like you would in a stock floor bodydrop but they dont cut the frame down at all for fear of weakning it.Instead they cut "channels" in the floorboard allowing the frame to come up inside the passenger compartment, which is then simply sheet metaled over.
