    Question Quarter Mile Time?

I'm thinking about dropping a 350 in my 87' S10 Blazer and i'm just curious if all u with 350's in blazers have 1/4 mile time's. I know that the aerodynamics aren't on our side. I'm wanting something that gets decent gas mileage but can snap some necks when the pedal's down. Do any of u with 350's have any room to work under the hood? I've never seen a 350 in a blazer, the closest i've come is a 383 in a Sonoma and that was jammed tight. I'm also wandering how much rear end gears cost?

I have never had my truck run at the track. But it's been run on a "g tech pro" I've looked at other trucks with the same mods as I. And I estimate anywhere from mid to high 13's maybe even low 14's who knows.

    I have my stock rearend.

That is a 383, (physically the same size as a 350)

REALISTICLY, a mild 350, decent gears, and some hooking up, will get you to low 13's high 12's. I've only gotten one run in with mine, and it was 14 flat. With my speed trap, and higher shifting, I know i can hit low 13's on the motor as is. The 383 is just a small block, so no different from a 350. I've got more room under my hood than my buddy does with his Z28. They are heavier than you think, and traction is usually a problem. I've gotten as much as 26 mpg with mine, but usually around 12 around town. I'd find a low milage LT1 and drop it in there. They have great potential, decent factory power, and will get decend milage.

best actual run for me was a mere 13.24 @ 103mph...that was 2 engines ago...semi-street tires, one-legger with 3.42's. Then my last motor the best I could go was a 13.50 @ 102...that motor was way more powerful...i just couldnt hook up for shit -

Ill be putting BL1 back together with a new cam, some head work, 3000 stall, full length headers, 3" exhaust, and 4.56's w/ posi and slicks...my goal is 12.30's or better.
this is a test of the sig

    350 or BUST

[SIZE=3]The best I have ever run was a 17.9 with a stock 2.8 which wasn't bad for it being stock. I'm droppen a 350 in her at least by the end of the summer.Hopefully.:D But I've got so far a comp cams 218/224 duration at .50 which is a mild cam. Steel Crank,Forged pistons, Edlebrock performer rpm air gap intake, set of aluminum heads off a corvette (58cc). That should bring the compression up about 10:1. I'm using full length headers, 2 1/2 flows(40 series) with H pipe straight out the back. I'm using the 200r4 tranny.(a little beafed up)cause of the different gear ratio from 1st to 2nd gear. A narrowed 9' rear with like a set of 3.73's. With the help of the 200r4 I should get around 18mpg at my best. Thankx to overdrive. About 13 or 14 around town. I'm hoping around 400hp at least. Does anybody know what I am capable of running with these types of mods???:bigthumb: :smoker:

The 200r4's usually come out an 86 SS Monte Carlo, & the Z28 Camaro's. It's pretty much the same thing as a 700r4 but the 200r4 has a different gear ration from first to second gear. Most people go with a 700r4 because of overdrive but the 200r4's have it too. They are not as strong as the 700r4 but with a little rebuilding you could make them withstand about 500hp. The other good thing is that they can bolt up to buick, chevy, and cadillac. It has multiple bolt patters on the tranny. They are rare but they are so far the best tranny that i know of. I would strongly recommend them to anybody doing a V-8 Swap. The gear ratio makes it feel like you have a really high stall converter. Thats all. IT keeps your rpm's up when shifting from first to second and plus it shifts smoother.:smoker:

Dude, that sounds just like the ZZ4 that I've got. Less a little bigger cam. What lift does that cam have? The duration is the same as the LT4 HOT cam, and thats got .525 lift with the 1.6 roller rockers. That should be 400 hp on the dot if you've got 10.1 compression. Depending on traction and your skills, you should be able ot hit low 13's high 12's. Why'd you decide with the 200r4 instead of the 700?
