    ZZ4Blazer, Whats Your Offset???

Hey, ZZ4Blazer, I was looking at some threads and i saw that u posted saying that u have 225/40/18's on your front. I'm wanting to get 225/40/18's too, but i dont know what offset i need. I was told to go with nothing bigger then a 15 offset, 3.5-4 backspacing. I have a 3/4 drop right now and i'm rubbing, but i am fixing to replace the wheels. I'm gonna drop it more in the future so what offset would be right, or do u have? Thanx bro

Wow a post just for me, I feel so special!!!

LMAO, anyways, my rims are 18x7.5. And they have a 15mm offset. They are extremely close to the tie rod ends. They don't touch though. With my current drop, I've got some rubbin at full turn. Tires only, my rims thenselves don't rub on anything. But I"ve got at least a 6" drop. It was just about on the bumpstops up front till I pulled them out. 3.5-4" of backspacing isn't enough. My 15mm offset is like 4.75. With an 8" wide rim, I'd try to find a rim with 0 offset, cause thats 4.5" of backspacing. I think that if I had and 8"wide rim (instead of 7.5) with 15mm offset, I'd be hitting the tie rod. On a 8" rim, 15mm offset would be like 5" of backspacing. To tuck with little to no rubbin at ride height, look for a rim with 4-4.5" backspacing. Whats your current tire/rim combo?

Right now i'm on 15's with 235/70/15 tires. They were on my truck when i bought it so i have no idea what the offset is on em. their like 7.5 or 8' wide. I think 7 1/2. i've been told all different offset's by all different people, and when i read u got 18's w/ low pro 40's, i knew u would know. I hope u dont mind me asking.
    Thanks

No way man, not at all. Always help a fellow trucker, especially with a blazer. What year is yours? My factory blazer rims are 15x7, and have 4" of backspacing. I just ran out and measured. Those tires are 27.9" tall. I believe thats factory size too. The 225/40/18's are 25", which will drop you little more than an 1" with them. Where you looking for chrome or some aluminum rims? I had a hard time finding ones that would fit. I've read that you have to keep them under 8" wide up front, or they wont' tuck, or you'll have no turning. I've got both with mine. Limited just came our with a bunch of new rims, I'm sure that some of them are in a 0 offset. I know Polo's got some. Hope this helps

my Blazers a 87'. I'm looking for some chromes. I found this one set and i asked the guy the offset and he told me "From the inside flange from the end of the rim measured 6 1/2." Whats that convert to in offset #'s. I'm glad the 18' are smaller in diameter in stock wheels, lower is better

That way way too much. Thats like, guessing now, a 40mm offset. Thats for fwd and 4x4's,unless you wanna run spacers. I did'nt, so I just was patient and found rims that fit.

What are spacers and how much do they cost? These rims and tires are at a hell of a deal, like $1200 w/ tires.

Theses are probably what you need. Check the math on the offset conversion. If you give me the specs on the rims I can try to help. When I did the math for my Tramps (+40 mm offset), to make it fit on a 2wd S-10 it needed 1.5 in spacers. Click below to check them out

If your gonna run spacers, go with a 2" spacer. That way you'll have 4.5" inches of backspacing. From everybody I've talked to, that will tuck perfectly on a 1st gen blazer with a 18x8 rim and 225/40's up front.

Ok, this is everything i know about the rims: 18' with 245/40/18 tires. From the inside flange to the end of the rim measures 6 1/2. The bad thing I just found out is that they are 9' wide. I cant go bigger then 8' wide, right? How much do spacers cost?

I think that is too wide to tuck up front. You either won't be able to tuck, or have limited turning radius.

Well i'm fotgetting those 9' wide set of 18's. I found another set for even a better price but they don't fit my 5x4.75 bolt pattern. Do u know anything about adapters? Do they push the rims out preventing them from from tucking on 8' rims?

I believe so. I think they're just like a spacer, but have a different bolt pattern. Unless its a high offset rim, like the other ones, I don't think you'll be able to tuck them.

ok then, well f*** both of those sets. I know a guy that'll hook me up w/ a set of 18' Lexani Amethist's that are 8' wide and can get me any offset. So i should go w/ a zero offset. The rims are brand new w/ warranty. with shipping the total comes to $1130. Does that sound like a deal. I think it sounds like one
