    1st Gen Rear Sway

Ok I am looking at getting a rear sway bar installed. I am looking at getting one off of an 87 IROC. Anyone know if there is a difference in lengths between the Iroc rear end and the blazer rear end???

If not is there any suggestions for a rear sway bar.

Oh and does anyone know where to look for a replacement floor pan for the drivers side. I found one onetime for like $12 can't find it again.

All sway bars are vehicle specific. Unless you feel like cutting up the iroc one, welding and fabricating it to fit, buy one for a blazer.

    Hellwig and ADDco makes some.

Suspension Techniques (Belltech) makes one. Thats the one I'm gonna run soon. The biggest I've found. (1 inch thick)

The sway bar is made out of spring steel.
Cutting and welding it would make it brittle.
It would fail under load. It would be the same as
heating a coil spring to lower a vehicle.

not all sway bars are make of spring steel. hell, all of the aftermarket ones are thick wall tube steel. I have heard of several people sucessfully modifying swaybars with a welder and not one of them failed, although I personally wouldn't recommend it. As far as the IROC bar, it is short enough to use on the blazers and S10s without modification but you will have to fab up brackets or find a place for the IROC brackets to mount to. they just unbolt from the camaro frame.

Any Idea if the ZQ8 will fit the first gen blazer?? Off of a 2001. I mean I do realize that all the mounts and stuff will have to be made but are the rear axle lengths the same?? Does anyone know the distance from backer plate to backer plate???

I know that the axles are the same length. But, I'm pretty sure that the 2nd gen blazer frames are different.

I think that the only ZQ8 blazers would be the extreme blazers. Truck rear sway bars wont' work for a blazer.
