    4x4 to awd conversion???

Hi, im a new member to this sweet site and i just wanted to say hi to everyone.

This is my question. Is it possible to take say a 4x4 blazer with a 4.3 and swap the 4x4 transfer case with one from a 4.3 awd astro van. Then it would create something like a Typhoon but with much less hp.
    Just a thought.

cool, someone told me that they were different so that the front would pull harder than the rear and thats why u shouldn't drive it in 4x4 on the street besause u will either burn out the diffs or the transfercase. they must have been wrong then.

    thanks

the AWD t case outta an Oldsmobile Bravada would be a better swap cuz their "Smartrac" system is a beautifull thing. Posing locker with discs out back and limited slip up front.

old thread but i own a 1998 smarttrak bravada and the awd is very nice and ive driven a lot of car through the shop. i can floor it and turn the wheel in pouring rain and it will not slip at all. i'll throw my passenger into the window though lol. 4.3 by itself isn't enough though. supercharge or turbo it and you will have what your looking for.:smoker:

Hey I gotta 93 blazer, and the gears are stripped in my t-case(dunno how it happened, any one ever heard of it?) But i was wondering what years would work for the AWD conversion from an astro van,, mine is the 5spd tranny so will an automatic tran t-case bolt up?
