K CDUBZ thanks man I appreciate, it won't be for few months or so, so its no time soon.. but I'll hit you up when I need to ask you summin, cause the while idea of changing around a door, taking off the handles, and puttin poppers on just sound to much stuff crammed in ya know, but I'll have a blast. Thanks..

Hey guys... ive decided that im going to put this to the test on a full size c10 :)

I have an extra cab to test in on and to get measurements on before fully doing it to my truck as to get things right without damaging the final product. Can somebody Please tell me the exact vehicle(s) that have hinges that I can go junk yarding for? I have three or four junk yards in my area but there all in four different corners and If I could have an idea of what exactly to call and ask for before I go, It would definately speed things up.

Im sure I will have some questions but I will post pictures under the full size rebuild I have going on in the fabricators form as soon as I start on it. The sooner someone can tell me what to go grab the sooner ill start taking measurements and begin cutting.

I know some people already posted the different vehicles but nobody had a post specifying exactly for sure what vehicle I can grab them from and not have to worry about getting the wrong hinge and having to go all the way back... im like right in the middle so there about 20 miles away each direction.

Thanks guys and I cant wait to see what I come up with... with those prices on hinges and my access to tools, if I can get them working on the full size ill do it on my explorer, too.

i am also considering doin this... seems pretty straight forward. Thign is i wanna still have my door handles on the outside and inside...... so i was gonna flip the hande on the outside to towrads the front of the truck and move the interior hangle inside towards the rear or the door... soudn s complicated but i got a spare door to try it on. yea i know door popers and shaved handles are way easier but when was the last time u saw anyone swap the handles around? thats custom. but yea i am seriously considering do this on my passengar door for now, juts to try it out. it seems like it shoudlnt be that hard of a job to do...

also for those of you looking for the hinges try ebay ive seen a bunch of sets of them just type in door hinges in ebay motors and you will see a bunch... i saw a set on there last night for an old chevy truck that are exactly what the suicide door hinge kits look like.

how much of a hurry are you in to get them? I dont think I can make it out to the junkyard till next weekend. Also how many hinges would you need? (2 per door)

hey which of those hinges do you think is strongest, or does it matter, do you think they will be able to support the weight of an 80s g-body door

all the hinges from the models I listed are exactly the same. If reinforced right and enough, they should be able to hold a G-Body door......if they can support and old 55 chevy door it shouldnt be a problem.

I dont know. I go through a junkyard that doesnt have set prices....the prices depend on the owners mood:( so the hinges go from $5-10 each. Then you will have shipping and all that good stuff......we will figure it out when the time comes :bigthumb:
