got those measurments? from where the door striker was located would help out alot. about to start on it this weekend.

Just an idea! What about hinges and hinge pockets from a 55-59 Chevy truck. I had a 56 Chevy and the hinges work the same but are straight from jam to door, not curved. The aftermarket has replacement hinge pockets and hinges, not too expensive. I think the idea of custom fab is the way to go anyway.

I have no access to any of the s-series trucks I have suicided. so I have no clue. I have never used the same spot....just a general area.
slimjimmy I have totally forgot to get out to the junkyard and get those hinges. I will try and get some soon. Let me know if you are still in need of them and hopefully I can get the time to get some for ya.
N2HTWLZ got pics of the hinges? If the are relatively close to the ones I posted they should work.

Here is a pic of a hinge from Brothers trucks. Brothers is in California and sells only 47-72 Chevy truck parts. They have raised the price from the last time I saw these, I guess you could get these from a salvage yard as well though. www.brothersonlinestore.com
