I've got a bunch of vacuum hoses with bolts in them :D
On a serious note, i swapped my intake for an intake that didn't have an egr in it, in order to have less problems. Though my truck is 21 years old, so by law i don't have to get the emissions done anymore. So i guess i'm lucky in that respect.

In Pa, we just keep mileage under 5000, and your emissions exempt.

Where you live is the biggest factor on emisions. I'm in ontario canada and in southern ontario there is emisions testing and northern there isint. luckily im in northern ontario where they arnt bugging us about it yet. If your in a location with restricktions on emisions then the best route for you to take is a tbi 350 and make sure to run a cat or 2 if its dual exhaust. Be sure to keep all the polution control shit and you should be able to pass the sniffer test

Search the website, I had posted my turmoils in passing..
Also in Ontario, I run a carb'd v8 with cats. Had to get an egr intake to make it pass. It's certianly possible. My local shop doing emmisons helped me out because they had a pile of customers having issues. They were great and used the treadmill mode to keep trying differant settings.
More details drop a post and I can fill you in...

Best bet is to swap to a newer motor and keep most of the emission stuff working. Most of the stuff isnt too hard to keep functioning....egr, cats, vacuum/charcoal canister, etc.
    Damn.
