Check raditor for leaves and crap blocking air way. Then carefully take hold of your fan and spin it if it stops in a short time the clutch is good, if it spins for a while you need a new one.. I like these problems cause they are easy to check. :smoker: My 69 Pontiac did this. My operation temp is about 180-210 never over 210... I have a 4.3..

The egr I have heard that you can put you finger in and feel it moving up and down... If it isnt movin you know it is bad.. But again I have not tryed it..lol But I had no idea it would make it over heat just run shitty???!!!?! I would see if you can get you raditor cleaned it is like 50, but if it is a few yrs old I would replace it or you might keep getting it cleaned and waste money.

    egr

I had never heard of egr overheating the motor either, but thats what my idiot book says. I also had to replace the overflow tank it was cracked half way on the back side . so I could not see it.

    overheating 2.8

get the 15lbs cap for the radiator that should take care of the overheating while driving and make sure the overflow is full.
