The 'glass front end won't save you much weight. Get the thing scaled first and then see what you want to do. You might be better off just moving weight around to get the balance right.

Don't be so sure about that, on our third date Mrs. Big and I scraped 60 pounds of sound deadening out of my Nova ----------- so there was a 1/2 a tenth right there.

Figure about 100 pounds a tenth ----- anything below 3000 and you will be looking at losing creature comforts and into some severe chassis work.

Front halving is good for about 300 reduction but may not be in tune with your road racer goal

Yup, batteries over the rear right wheel. I never put those end bumper supports back on.

I have a set of Hotchkiss UCA's on the front already. This winter Im gonna give the front coilovers a shot again, and will be using the ART LCA's for their shockwaves.

Eventually Im gonna swap out to a 4 link and coilovers. I believe that should weigh less than the leafs.

I've never really seen glass leafs?? Im guessing these are a drag racing item?

seen them around on stock cars to reduce the non suspended weight

They only weigh 8 pounds each versus 40 each for steel so there would be 60 pounds saving. (another 1/2 a tenth)

I think they were around $400 for off the shelf but some company will make them to your specs too so you could possibly drop it and save weight, although no idea on the $$$????. probably $600

One of the companies also had a package deal with some goofy "torque limitors" which looked like anemic traction bars.

Its been awhile since I looked at them though.

howabout an aluminum radiator maybe. fiberglass front bumper as i believe was already suggested. i forget who makes them but a company in jegs sells these adjustable upper control arms and there is not much to them, they have got to be light. maybe a set of racing seats but upholstered. i am sure sparcos probably still weigh less than a stock seat.

I'm cutting my front crossmember out and replacing with 4340 tube. Also mounting a rack and pinion.

Remember an ideal weight ratio is 50% front bias and 50% rear.
