    i have a choice on 2 sonoma's

alright guys, i went to look at 2 sonoma's. 1st one- 94 ext cab 4x4 v6, auto trans 165K miles, interior needs a good cleaning and shampoo. body is decent.that one is $1500. then there is a 95 ext cab, 2wd v6, auto trans, 80K miles, interior just needs some cleaning. the guy wants like $2000 for that one. what do u guys think, and whats ur resons for voting for that one. and my plans for both of these right now are just driving them. no mods except for a system maybe.

thats what i'm thinking. the ony bad thing is that in NJ the ice and snow gets pretty bad(not at bad as canada, but still) and my 89 2wd blazer handled like shit in the snow. i got stuck in the smallest ice patches

IMO gith the 2WD. I used to live in MI and when I had a little s-truck I just through a bunch of bags of sand or water softner salt bags. Its not as good as 4 wheel drive, but winter is only a season and maybe someday your going to want to make that mother a sport truck.

The '95 sounds like a good deal but the '94 also isnt too bad for a 4x4.
'94's dont have an airbag but '95's do.

Check the '94 really good for worn suspension parts (balljoints, torsion bar mounts, etc). Also check the transmission out and make sure the 4wd works- put it in 4 hi and drive in a circle. It should be much harder to turn than in 2wd.

I built a frame out of 2x4's for the bed of a 2wd S10 I had and put 8 cinder blocks over the axle. It wasnt as good as a 4x4 in the snow but it did ok.

okay guys i have made my decision, now i gotta play"lets make a deal" with the owner. i'm gonna get the '95 2wd and try to get him down to 2000 for it... then i pay him 4 it, and start the parting out of "old whitey" (89 blazer) so i'll keep u updated and i'll get pics asap of the 95.
