    Whats this thing?

Sorry I dont have a pic but what is the ball shaped thing that is under the hood? It is actually attached to the hood and it has a wire going into it. Its on the right side if you open it up from the front. BTW I have a 96 Blazer 2wd. Well my wire was really dry-rotted and when I opened the hood it tore and I can hear the air hissing out of it... not sure if the air is coming out or going in? I duct-taped the wire for now and havent had any problems but what is this thing?

The vacuum canister hangs off the hood on the left side. Theres no wires going to it.

That isn't a wire it is a vacuum hose. Probably dry rotted, replace it.

My brother got a new vacuum reservoir for his S10 for $20 something at the dealer.
It will cause vacuum operated things like the heater system and 4wd (doesnt apply to your truck though) not to work if not repaired.

Your climate controls won't work correctly, you could start developing fuel/engine run issues due to lack of volume...Bbuy winshield sprayer hose, it will cost about 30 cents to replace at any autoparts store... I mean seriously, if you know something is wrong, why wouldn't you replace/fix it? :) Actualy you should go ahead and replace all your vac tubing, cost ya less than 5 bux, because if that one was dryrotted then chances are you have others that are.
