When i had my 4x4 i had a 6in drop in the back and before i bagged the front, i estimate it was probably a 7 or 8 in drop it was tucking tire all the time on 235/40/18 tires. There are some pics of it at www.cardomain.com/id/rjs04

i got a 10inch notch, the bridge + notch stickes up bout 3-4 inches, and im rollin 255/45 tires.. which hit the top of the wheel well leaving leavin 3 inches between frame and ground but im in the process of tubbin the rear this winter so ill br throwin sparks by spring, incase your wondering why i got such big of notch or big of tires is because i plan on tuckin 22's if not 24's.... as for the rear bench nothing had to be done to it, its still untouched fully functional.... however the gass tank is a big problem seein how it hangs 1-1/2 inchs below my frame so i need to either get a smaller 1 tucked under there or just take it out and put a fuel cell in the back...

im not sure but i think you will have to get a longer driveshaft like from a 2wd and change the tailshaft on the tranny, but your orginal tranny will be fine, if im wrong someone correct me , i been wondering this, and if im gonna rip it out i wanna rip it all out . less weight

the problem i had w/ my driveshaft was it wouldnt flex as much as my truck was goin up and down, and i kept bustin ujoints, it would also rub on the crossmember. so i had 1 custum made half the size w/ 3 ujoints...

well in order to drop your 4x4 u need to remove your half shafts, cv's and your transfer case, you cant keep the case and drop your 4x4, it doesnt work like that
read that again, thats why i asked.

there's no real need to do all that extra work either and spend all that extra money on the transmission

i can see removing the front differential, axles, and driveshaft ... but removing the transfer case just seems to be a waste of time and money

hey man, id rather do it smart, my trucks droped 3/4 right now, 4x4 still in...if you were to remove your 4x4.. i see no reason to keep that transfer case there..its a waste of space, no reason what so ever..not like u can put ur 4x4 back in..so take it out..and it wont leave such a strain, ask anyone here i bet if they dumped their 4x4 they removed their case
