    I just looked on a few junkyard websites and they have a few transmissions for $700 each.

    700 for a junked tranny is too much. I wouldnt pay more than 400 for it. For just 250 more you can get yours rebuilt and it will basically be like brand new.

    Agree on the junk yard tranny, but 600 total for a rebuild I wouldn't trust it. JMO

    You pull and install. Cash and carry for the rebuild. My boss used to do that all the time when I worked at a tranny shop. It was normally between $600-800 for a rebuild.

    I've got a 95 Blazer 4dr, 4x4, that I'm gonna part out, it's got a 4l60e trans in it, no leaks,shifts good, all gears work fine, 143xxx on actual vehicle, it's still in the truck.
    $300 for trans if you're interested.
    Only problem is, it's gonna be at least 2 weeks before I can yank it out.
    Let me know if you want it before it goes on ebay.

    Ok update:


    my dad went down to the tranny shop and got an estimate of 700 to rebuild the transmission. he said that this is common.
    we are probably gonna go this route.
