Has any one tried installing the suicide door blazer specific step notch on a 4 door yet? Mine is bumping the axle to frame with 3" leafs and a 1" lowering block and no interior what so ever. Its driving me nuts.

Mine is a 1st gen 4 door and it went in nice. I used the notch that is slightly bent to match the bend in the frame. I have a how to available if you are interested.

Not to get off topic but, I tried to put it up here in pdf format. Not ever able to get it to load so I just email it when asked. If anyone has an idea of how to get it included let me know.

the max drop you will get with no notch and stock bump stops is 4-4.5 inches in the rear.

with no bump stops your axel will hit the frame and you basicly have no suspension travel(bad for wheels). the max you can get with out cutting the frame is like 5-5.5 inches. if you decide to put in a notch...... return to page 1.

is it just out of simplicity is that why ppl use the bolt in c notch I'd rather put in the welded notch it gives more clearance for up grading to bags later.

some people don't need that much clearance, and i do not plan to add bags to this one. also with a bigger notch you would need to cut the floor

For what it's worth, I used the bolt in notch for ease of install and as mentioned above, I did not need as much clearance. If I ever upgrade to bags I would 4 link it and narrow the rear anyway so for me the bolt in was the better way to go. I've had the notch in for a few months now and it has made a huge difference in ride quality. No more banging axle.

Sorry for the late entry to this. my friend bagged the front of his 85 and has a 7" drop in the rear. it hits but it is getting gradually better as the pumkin is pretty mutch notching the floor for itself, acting as a hammer of sorts.

I know its lowered 5 " in front but I cant remember if its a 5/5 or 5/6. I know I have 2" drop blocks and either 4" leafs or 3" leafs. Up front was 2" spindles and 3" springs. I did have a c-notch. Any suggestions? The wheels were 18's and I cant remember the tire size. The whole kit is for sale, but I need to find out what the leafs are.

They are probably 3". I've never seen 4" leafs. Plus my 2dr was level all the way around, so I assume yours might have been too. How much are you looking to get for the kit?

Thanks for all the replies guys. I didn't realize the thread had gotten going again. lol I haven't fixed my banging problem yet as its pretty easily avoidable by staying out of the gas to heavy (and Ive been busy), but Im going to go with air shocks as a temporary fix.

As was said above, I went with the bolt in C-notches because Im planning on bagging it later, which will mean a 4-link and a complete modification of the rear frame/suspension anyway.

On a side note, Im assuming I'll have to take the body off the frame to bag and 4-link the rear... correct?
