    How strong is C-notch?

I want to put one on my blazer but don't want to weaken the frame any with Tq transfer from the V8.

well I'm removing the bump stops when I swap axles and I don't see that giving me the clearance I really want. If I go with the C-notch I would bolt it in, then take it to a buddy to have it welded

    thanks guys

Pics are not working at the moment and I have a few questions.

Do you line up the lower edges of the template with the lower part of the frame?
Also what about the notch hitting the body, anything need to be done to the body?

    Visual would be great.

I am not new to working on S-10s and have did a few V8s.

    Here is mine http://www.s10forum.com/forum/f10/1s...lation-223375/

only body interference i had on mine, is on the inner fenderwell, i hat to cut a little of that off on the bottom front side of it where it interfered with the notch. other than that, that was it.

and yes, just hold the notch up to the fram, trace it, cut it, then mount.

i kinda split the difference b/t it hitting the body and hanging down a little bit. I folded the bottom of the inner over a little and let it hang about a 1/4 inch below the frame, maybe less. Just if you do this make sure you have enough room to get the lower bolts in.

I'll see what I can do about the pics. I still have them. If the site allows me to re-upload I can put them back on.

Well, maybe not. there is a limit of 100k per pic.
