You might free up 5-10 hp if your lucky by changing to an electric fan but changing the rad won't do anything for you.

changing the radiator will do a lot

    it will hurt your walet
be a pain in the ass and time consuming

for the .000000001 hp you get out of it

yeah i dont think it will do much just changin the radiator

    go with the e-fan

The taurus does 2600 on low,. 3500 on high, more than enough for our trucks... The switch has a probe that mounts in the rad... here is the wiring schem

well this thread from 2005 will have to do. I was searching, YES SEARCHING, for a thread about electric fans. I just swapped my Flex-a-lite 210s for a set of Dodge Intrepid fans.

Benifits: S-blades, dual speed, found at local junkyards for cheap, replacement parts over the counter, hell of a lot quieter

Cons: cutting and brackets required to fit, need to build your own wiring harness, not as low profile as the flex-a-lites (not a big deal for stock guys). I recommend this swap to all S10 owners, stock or modified.

so on with the point of this highjack. As stated before, I just swapped in a set of Dodge fans. They sound like they aren't even working, but they cool the V8 a hell of a lot better (so you V6 boys are golden). A little triming, some custom brackets made out of flat bar aluminum from Home Depot, and the use of the Flex-a-lite temp controls, and I have a slick set of electric fans for $45.

This is the only pic I have right now. I'll get a pic of the brackets and how they mount to the rad soon.

I've been thinking about getting those for both the S10 and the Blazer to swap in the next time I swap engines...

    here's a couple more pics

    tabs I made

The bottom tabs are made from the same flat bar aluminum, they are just a basic L-bracket

I have had a set in my zr2 for over a year with zero issues. Cools better than the stock clutch fan and its quiet. can barely hear them running.

Best part is that they are OEM quality and can be bought brand new for about 80 bucks now.

Next thing you need to get dan is one of these guys http://www.summitracing.com/parts/GMB-130-1820P/ should help coolant temp at low speed by moving more fluid. If you search the part number on google you can get it cheaper, just ordered one last night for 50 bucks.
