    throttle body spacer

    i saw a throttle body spacer for my 97 jimmy for like $73 is that worth it and how does a spacer work and what does it improve? thanx

    They dont do anything. I had one on my '93 S10 and it didnt increase the power or gas mileage and it made the truck backfire occasionally.

    it makes a better paper weight than anything else. waste of money.

    A friend of mine has one and he thinks it makes his car so much faster. Maybe it's the manufacturer that makes a diffference. Hey Lewis if you every want to talk let me know. Thanx! :spin:

    My friend thought the same thing. Unfortunately he had a 2.2 so nothing would have made his truck fast :rolleyes:. He just didnt want to admit that he wasted $80 on a metal plate...

    i have one....wish i never bought it.....wish i could get the 30 mins of my life back that took me to install it....oh yeah and my $ back too.....makes a cool noise tho :bigthumb: :rolleyes:

    actually they work like a high rise intake or velocity stack in that the air fuel mix picks up velocity when it has longer to travel. the gain is low end torque not mpg or high end horsepower...
