i don't just measure down the coil. like hmmm... let's cut off 2" of coil that's this first whole top ring *chop*

i was always told to measure from the end of the coil around the coil. in a spiral motion. i don't exactly know how to describe it any better. if you have a problem understanding it or whatever IM me

I think I know what you are talking about, but does it work or have you ever done it.

yes it works. and it's alot safer in my mind to cut a length off of the coil than to just cut one rung off. that's how my old s10 got lowered. extreme coils and remove a length. i plan to do it to the lowering coils on my blazer. but w/ the zq8 tires they are too big. so i can't go lower just yet

well he can do whichever he wants it don't matter to me.
I don't really see how doing it like you say would drop it that much I don't see how cutting 4" or whatever you said would drop it more than half a inch.

Well i cut the coils... And It GOT LOW ... but I think it will just be right ... I just had enough time n class to bolt it all back up and try it... one side is definately a little lower.. but when pushing down on the truck on each side... the higher side is alot stiffer then the lower side which is plush. Maybe the coil on the high side isnt seated or just too long???

Thanks for all the other help
    Greg

well i kinda checked with both methods... I was out of time .. but im thinking since its stiffer on one side that maybe the coil isnt fully seated ...

im not sure i will have to check it tomorrow.

I fixed the problem of how it was uneven. The sprin was not in the sprin cup. But now its a bit to low. Over speed bumps just after the front tires go over it rubs on the frame... Is there anyway to get like an inch.... maybe not even.. without replacing the springs..

    Thanks Greg

never used them, but they make spring spacers. the ride quality will be the same just a little higher.

the best thing to do is go to the junkyard and pickup a set of stock coils and start over.
