    4x4 to 2x4

I was wondering if it was possible to remove the transfer case and get a new drive shaft, thus turning the truck into a 2x4. the reason i want to do this is because my transfer case was making a bunch of noise a while ago. so i bought a used one and had it instaled. Now the same problem is happening with this one. so i just want to get rid of the 4x4 and at the same time, a lot of problems. what do you think? is there anything im not thinking of?

the transmission is different on a 4x4
you would need to either get a 2wd transmission or have your transmission rebiult with a 2wd tailshaft and tailshaft housing
