Wassup? I understand how to do the bd in the front. How is the rear done. Do you just cut the floor out and weld new angle pieces in or what. Any help would be great.

ok i'll get some pictures, basically.. at the back you have to cut the rear crossmember, and have the bumber off... on mine it wouldnt come off and i got too rammy so i cut it off... right now i have some 2x4's holding up the back end as that is what hold the back half of the truck up....

I would start by completely removing the body from the frame. Then I would take the weels off and lay the frame on the ground. I'd cut out the passenmger floor (not the rear cargo area) and test fit it on the frame with short polyurethane body mounts so the floor is sitting right on top of the frame. Then I'd saw off the rear frame where the c-notch is gonna be since to leave the cargo floor low you need to lower the rear frame to match. Then I'd weld the body back together at that hieght so when you lay frame you don't crush your rocker panels with the weight of the truck. You stock gas tank should still work fine, but I'd get an alluminum "Off-Roader" style shield rather than the plastic ones that will spark when you drag and still protect the tank. Plus you can mount drag blocks on it since it hangs a little lower than the frame will in the back.
That's how low I would drop the body

c town216 i take it you have never done a body drop befor. becuase that post is the most insane thing i have ever read. if youwere going to go to all that trouble why not stock floor b/d it. and you have to b/d the cargo area so the gas tank doesnt drag on the ground. i have done a couple b/ds i used to own a b/d 2 door and a getting ready to stock floor b/d my 4 door.
wicked to the bone i am
