Are you planning on shaving the whole rear end closed, like doing a full skin combo? What all are you planning for the body?

well i want the tailgate still to open, but i think i just might mage it swing out like the old beaver wagons had, otherwise i', just going to have it open as per norm. i'm shaving the gas filler. and moving it behind the taillight so that the taillight swings out and there is the filler, really sneaky! and i'm graphing in the cb and radio antenna into the back post for a tricked out look... and the interior.. that is a surprize! i have it alll figured out i just have to finish the body first but it will be awesome to see

The reason I asked what you were doing with the rear is because at this point all you can do is install a full skin (which I've never seen for a blazer). I can't tell much from the pics, but it looks to me like you arent going to be able to re-install your tailgate since the middle of the bottom of the tailgate jamb is cut out and moved up 5". You are supposed to stop your cuts before the jamb and then fill the gap like you are doing with the doors. See what I mean?

i know what you are saying. BUT in this instance i decided to do something just a little different.. i'm moving the tailgate hinge down the proper amount, you'll see yea i thought about it that was as well... but i wanted a different bout good look, in my opinion this will look killer once completed , plus theres the problem with the gastank i really didnt want to fool around with since its all tight in this area

see'll be good... you can bet on that

I dont understand how that's going to work. The tailgate needs to close against it's jamb, If there is a big hole there, you will have water, noise, and dust problems. It looks like at this point you might still be able to cut the middle part of the jamb off and reweld it to the dropped part of the body like normal. When you open the tailgate you would see welds and shit, but oh well.
Hurry up and do what you are going to do and post pics, I'm curious to see what you are going to do with that.

 i'm confused also. usually what is done is the frame is cut off on the front side of the body mount and lowered however far the body drop will be similar to how the front is done for the rad support and shit

he he i know you you guy mean and i did start that process in the back, but i changed my mind at the last moment just before i started cutting the rear frame... part of the reason i couldnt do that is that i need to replace the gas tank shortly and it wouldnt allow that to happen, secondly wih the way i have dont it,, it will look stock and clean in the back, i am concidering filling the tailgate in though... but i dont really want to, its nice to have that excape dor if caught in the act! :)

one of my hold-ups on this project right now is i have to pick up my mig at my uncles place still and the fast that i'm not working the office job anymore and i now and sluggin 35lb sluge hammers and heavy lifting now... so i very worn out and working 6 days a week....

all I have to add is the rear is very difficult it takes a lot of planning back there, and there really isnt any room for mind changes or clareless mistakes you could have left the back in tac cut the whole back floor, make your frame cuts( cross mem ) etc.......and lower your jack and jackstands and come down with it around the floor, tac weld bars to hold it and measure it all the way around it seems that you have done a whole lot of extra work. It's not any fun having a mutilated Blazer you cant get back together. (BUMMER) GOOD LUCK with the project
