hmmmm, the disk rears being too wide is keeping me from doing rear disk swap but I just though, the 2wd 8.8 version is smaller, so would a disk break 2wd 8.8 rear be the same as a 4wd drum?

How much you getting the disk rear for blazeintheworks? I really need to find one.

just got back from picking it up. limited slip, 3:73's, rear disc, all new enternals, disc bracks, even senthtic fluid.... $300:D this thing is freakin heavy, no way i am breakin it. it looks to be the same width as an s10 4x4 rear.

hey BlazerINtheWork, can you measure that from face to face to make sure for me? The drum rear is the same as 4x4 but I was under the impression the disk is wider.

well mine was orginally a drum one(88) and the guy converted it to discs from a 95.

running out to measure right now, so check back for the edit

*EDIT, ok. from outside of the disc(where the pads go) to the same spot it was 58''. then each side has the part that sticks out, this is where the actual wheel mounts, each of those are about 1.5''. so total length,61'':bigthumb: if you want any other measurements let me know, more than happy to with it just sittin in the garage.

    hmmm, thats a little wide.

    Got 2 Q's

1:Would the measurements be the exact same if it was like that from the factory instead of converted and
2: Is that the 4wd or 2wd version.

i am going to say its a 2wd since it came out of a turbo coupe(car). i'm not sure on that first question, since this is the first one i even got to measure. i wasn't even planing to look at them for about 3 or 4 months. this one just fell in my lap and i could not pass it up.

not even close to mounting up the same. not a big deal, just cut off the other stuff and almost any shop can weld some perches on there in minutes. give me a couple minutes to snap a pic.

I thought T-Birds were coil spring in the rear but I wasn't sure. Having pads welded on should be no big deal.

Are you going to have the asles redrilled for Chevy or do adapters?
