To each thier own, man....go with what you like and not what others like...it IS YOUR ride..make it your own.....just remember it you dont take it all the way out the back..it is gonna be loud (resonate) inside the truck...no matter what route you take

    Happy trails to you.....:blazer:

MAybe rice was the wrong word.

My point is why give up power to get the sound you are looking for. Choose a quieter muffler like Supernova suggests and run them all the way out the back like winditup57 suggests.

Add resonators after the axles like they used to on the Old Toronados and Caddi Eldarados to tame down the "edge".

I'm going back to my first post statement

Smaller the pipe diameter the louder and Higher the Note will be.

If you go with an X pipe it will Shorten the Raps of the exhaust note, Make it sound more like a mustang 5.0. The h pipe is quiter than true duels. But either way you need a crossover pipe for EFF.

The crossover pipe acts as an equalizer that creats a vacume whaen exhaust pulses pass by, assisting the scavanging of the combustion chamber.

I think a single mid pipe great also it does the same as a crossover pipe ( H or X) just doesnt support the same air flow unless you find a shop that can bend 3.5+ or custom build one out of scrap tilpipes from your local pipeshop.

If I was you I would go with 2-2 1/2" into a single 3" through a flowmaster 70 with 2 2 1/2 out the back and if it resonates to much have the shop put in a 3X24 glasspack to slow the pulses.

I am runnin an H wityh borla xr1's on 2.5 pipe with cheep headersBone's vid

the firs few notes are from the V6 thumper

single 3" to magnaflow muffler will probably be what you are looking for. That's what i've got on my silverado and it sounds great.:bigthumb:

Leave some space if you want to get it dead quiet.

They really make a big difference in terms of taking that last bit of "V8 edge" out.

but you need to leave a spot for installing them later if you still don't have that sound

Just curious. You kept saying you wanted quiet, but that seems kinda loud. Also, why the dumps? Makes it much louder than running it out the back. Sounds good. I like it but reading the thread it doesn't sound like what you were asking for.

I don't think that problem will ever be resolved.... It's been like 6 months now with it.

But I am happy with the way it sounds. You can't even hear the engine running up front. I was surprised how quiet it is. (Up front as in the engine compartment)
I have 2 injectors ordered and a MAP sensor. See if that will fix it.

If you're saying it sounds like an LS1, thanks for the compliment :p: :bigthumb:

Bottom... New crankshaft.. heh... -5 Domed aluminum forged pistons, 305 heads that I didn't even rebuild at all... All I did was clean them... Roller cam that came in it since the engine's an L98. And that's it really. I just built it for a daily driver. Plus I can always upgrade something if I want to. It was just a budget build :)
