If you want to do it right then it has to bed welded. I didnt pull my headliner when I welded mine up. I just ground off the head of the screw and the fastener and used the remaing piece of the fasten as my filler.

Yeah you would have to pull the headliner. he didnt have to because he welded the bolts in so they filled the hole.

I did that on 7 of the 8 holes. On 1 of them I just filled in the hole.

If you wanted to you could go to walmart and pick up a tube of what they call QuickSteel. It's by a company called Cargo. It would not take much to use and it hardens to steel when it cures. It is sandable and paintable. I used it one time when I tried to fill in the body lines and it doesnt come out. Body filler cracks and falls off after so many years. The stuff is around 3 to 4 bucks.

It would take a couple of tubes. I did the 2 short lines on the back by the window and that was as far as I got. It did work. I ended up having to junk it so it never got done. Try the rack holes first and make sure you like it before you do the body line. This is only my opion that it works good. I just like how it cost less than welding. You have to follow the instructions for it to work right. It has other uses also. I'm going to do it with mine.
