pictures can hide bodywork... it could look good in the pic but be horrible in person.. if it looks smooth and feels smooth then it is good body work.

I still have to wet sand the truck. I just have to finish the front of the truck first. It looks good in person but I'm doing it outside and in the wind so it's not easy. I was wandering do I have to use primer sealer and if I do what is the purpose of using it.

A primer sealer will keep out moisture and blocks the metal. With a laquar primer it will still soak up water. If you dont seal it you run the risk of the water getting into your filler, and it will bubble and start to rust behind the paint and filler.

Now that will suck. But how much time do I have to do it after primering it? And how many cans of sealer will it take?

Hey thanks. I'll have to see about getting some. I still have to wet sand and do more body work that's left on it still. Thanks for the info.

I've only heard of it but since I'm new to doing body work I don't know the first thing about it. I always thought they would wet sand to get the primer smoothed out. But then I started to hear about block sanding it on the trucks show. So it smooths out the primer and the body. When do you need to do that. After you do the primer sealer or before. I might even just let some one paint my truck. I don't have a way to keep the dust off of the truck. So it's not that easy here. Isn't there a book or dvd that can help me with the body work?

    Well here's another update

I finally had the energy to do some work. So I took off my wheels and wheels wells and it makes it easier to do the work. I still have to make a few ajustments but it's almost done. Someone said it would take 2 hours and it took me all day to get this far. Hope ya like.

blocking doesnt have to be done wet.. you block sand anytime you do body work...

however when you are blocking wet, you block them primer then spray a sealer over it... then paint it.. but if you are going to leave it in sealer for a lil while.. then you need to scuff the sealer with 800 (hold the paper flat in your hand in go in gentle swirl motion, holding you finger tight together) right before you are ready to paint it..

Hey thanks for the info. Maybe I'll let someone do that at their shop. I would have to much dust and dirt in it here and my son wants to help so there's not telling what would happen.
