"As for the half shafts, you have to unbolt the bolts that bolt it to the differential, then take the outer axle nut off and your axle will be out. Then you have to put the outer hub back on, (the piece that has the rod the axle nut threads onto. To get if off, you have to pull off the rubber boot, and inside there will be little clips that you have to take out and it will come apart, but i couldnt get to them, so what you can do, is put it in a vice and beat the living shit out of it until the guts (the actual cv joint) break apart. You wil have to beat on it for 15 mins to get it broke off (thats how long it took me anyways."

    What part didnt you understand?

dont bring it anywhere to remove them, just do it yourself, only tip i can give you is when your trying to slide the axle out of the hub move your tie rod by turning your steering wheel so you can make enough room to slide the axle out forwards and then push it out

the half shaft reffers to the whole assembly that contains both CV joints on one side of the diferential (both black boots and the shaft they are on) it will come out all as one unit

this isnt the exact halfshaft from a gmc jimmy but its really close, when you remove this halfshaft u have to remove the outer cv joint by removing a circlip, and reinstalling the outer cv joint in onto your hub

I took the shafts and diff out of mine also. Do you really need to put the outer stub back through the hub. What would happen if you left it out? Has anyone done it?
Also, I always seperated the the upper ball joint from the spindle when I was removing or replacing my half-shafts.
