    yea, i broke out the grinder but after i got about a quarter of the way through and burned up the whole disk, i gave up on that idea. it was a pain to get the grinder in there anyway.

    so are ball joints easy to do.. and what do i need to do it and i need some advice on doing them i have a 97 gmc jimmy 2 dr

    factory ball joints are rivited into the a arm. you have to drill them out. aftermarket ball joints will have bolts to reattach them to the a arm, so you wont have to drill them out ever again. rent a ball joint press because you will need it to press the new joints into the arms.

    i thought you had to press the balljoint into the a arm, then bolt it to the spindle. im probably wrong, im just recalling what i remeber from when i watched my buddy do it to his 2wd last year. ive never replaced the whole thing myself, just unbolted it and freed it from the spindle.

    no thats only on 2wd. they get pressed in not riveted/bolted. 4wd is bolted on.
