    1 more, Catching Second

Maybe two or three more newb questions! WHat does HEI stand for? I read in a thread on the HEI distributor the coil is in the cap. Is this true? And if so, how do I hook up tac. wire for gauge?

    HEI : High Energy Ignition

Coil is in the cap : true

Tach : On the driver side of the cap there's a small little box like thing sticking out if I remember correctly. It says right on it "TACH". You put a female connector on the end of your wire and stick it on the front terminal sticking downward on the cap. To make it easier on yourself, take the cap off so you can see the terminals (they are facing downwards).

Woops. I thought it was towards the front. Sorry! It's been a while since I messed with it.

on your tach there are different methods to select the # of cylinders too. some clip wires oters you take apart and there is a selector switch.
