    Rear drop questions

I'm using 4" blocks on the back of my blazer and I ditched the bumpstops but it still bottoms like crazy. Does anyone know where I can get shorter better bumpstops to use or should I c notch it? Any help would be great. Thanks.

What? Just because you lower something does not mean it is going to bottom out. If you engineer or fabricate something properly it will ride better than stock, not worse.

Get a bolt in c-notch, etc and you should be good to go.

Thats what I was thinking. I owned a 94 Chevy Xcab, 98 4 door Tahoe, 95 Prelude, 92 S-10, and a 87 2 door Blazer and they all were lowered with no problems. I was just wanting to get some opinions before I started throwing money at my Blazer. lol
Do you think I could get away with some bumpstops instead of a c notch since money is tight right now? If so, where can I get some? Thanks for all the help.

You will still bottom out, just instead of metal to metal, it will be metal to polyurethane with less travel than what you currently have.

No sense in buying bumpstops now when you'll just be buying a notch in the future.

i tried taking the bump stops out, but the frame to axle sound was too loud so i cut the bump stops in half and it helped..it still bottomed out just not so hard as it was without the bump stops

i changed the rear leafs to a 2" drop leaf and added a 2" block....it rides alot better than the 4" block...not much of a smooth ride with 4" blocks in my case

Yeah, like a dummy I threw my original bumpstops away so I guess I'll have to buy some aftermarket ones but I don't what kind I should get.

You could cut off the bumpstop bracket and go with a pancake style stop where the axle would hit the frame. That would give you another inch or so of clearance.

I really need to crawl back under it and figure out what I can do to fix it. Does anyone have stock bumpstops they dont need?
On a side note, I installed a cowl hood and removed my roof rack last night.:bigthumb:
