    Muscled up 4.3L V6 *Pics**Video*

Here we go fella's. Decided to BEEF up the Stock 4.3L that was in my blazer after it started losing oil pressure and smoking. We COMPLETLY rebuilt her and did the following:

    -Bored out .40 over
    -Flat top Pistons
    -Port and Polished heads
    -Comp Cam Valve Springs
    -Titanium Retainers
-Bored head for larger Comp Cam Valves
    -Comp Cam Push Rods
    -Comp Cam Lifters
    -Comp Cam Camshaft (.510 Lift.....D@mn!!)
    -B&M 2400rpm Stall Convertor
    -Chevy orange block
    -Chrome valve covers
    -Heddman Headers
    -Edlebrock Chrome air cleaner kit
    -Rebuit throttle injection
    -Stage II Jet Performance Chip
-Swapped to double rolling Timing gears/chain
    -Custom headerback GlassPack exhaust
    -Gauges (oil, water temp, tach)

Despite everyone not backing me up on deciding to beef up the V6, she turned out to be a MONSTER!!! No thanks to JEG'S. They wanted to tell me that i was pissing my money away. SUMMIT Racing was VERY VERY helpful. After maybe another day or two of tweeking, timing adjustments, and a little tweeking to our Jet Performance chip, she will roam the streets, and be on the hunt for 350's :P :smoker:

That thing sounds pretty mean. Now all we need is a burn out video. And did you do anything about the connecting rods?

What heads and intake are you running?

not bad, but i have a few comments

on your cam you commented on .510 lift and said damn, why exactly? lift dosent = power

i cant tell since the intake is painted but im going to guess he is using the stock intake and LB4 heads, if so you can get some good power going to either an L35 head or a 96> vortec head

your also going to have to change the motor mounts to a diff style becuase the stockers will never last

on a side note, it looks good, but your not the only one who is building a 4.3 :D

Here's something i was curious about: The stock rear end. How strong is it? Running the stock 700R4, i know she can handle a bit, but i'm not aware of how strong/weak the rear end is. Someone enlighten me. Thanks

I said damn because that's a very high lift, deep valve excursion. Motor rocks like a mini earthquake when it's camming at idle.

Stock center head, with previously mentioned heads (stock, ported and polished, bored, w/ large valves)

We def. know. Everything's being done at budget. In time hopefully before one wears out or breaks we'll change them out with poly urethane's, or fill the stock ones with urethane.

Very nice man! Once you get it all broken in and everything, you should take it to the track and see what it runs. I have a stock 4.3L TBI and I've always kinda wondered what It could be made to do. I'll probably end up going the V8 route because I like the v8 sound, plus I've got a 4 door and the extra 2 cylinders of torque would be nice to lug around those extra 2 doors. :bigthumb:

Alot of guys use the stock rear-end with V8's with no problem, then you have some guys that blow the stock rear-end with the stock 4.3....Just run the stock rear-end and if it breaks, replace it, if it doesnt, then dont worry about it. :D
