    tires messing up 4x4

a guy told me the other day that having smaller tires on the front of my blazer would pretty much screw up the four wheel drive, said something about grind the hub off or something? is this true? one of my buddies was gonna get some tires on his blazer the back were 275/45/17 and front were 225/40/17

i was wondering the same. i think if you use the same size tires front and back there shouldnt be a problem.i want to get 245/45/18.

you want to use the same diameter tire, if you run different diameter tires and are in 4x4 the small diameter tire will have to spin faster then the larger diameter. This will cause you problems.

IF you want to get bigger tires in rear and skinnier in front do it, just make sure their height's are the same.

a diff width is ok, but staggered sizes a :nono: on a 4x4. Thats why I can't jack the wheels off the 'vette down the street!
