    bought an 85

    i finally got it home today and heres the pics. plans are 383 with afr heads, tci trans with 3200 stall, mono leaf with cal tracs and lowerd 2/3. and eventually a 9 inch with 4.10 gears and a posi.

    best way to fix this? without shaving.

    nice catch reminds me of my 85 i got for xmas, it didnt have amotor or anything got it for 350. The ody looks good.

    only think I have to comment on is the monoleaf running that much power.

    i think of a bull ride when someone says mono leaf and has any intentions of going fast or doing burn outs.

    props on finding a real mono leaf built for it though.

    just a question Do yall think that mono leafs are unsafe for a racing application? if so explain.

    obviously the one you found is made for exactly that. as long as the product has a firm background , i definatly would not run a factory mono leaf even if it was a 4 banger.

    just got a big bunch of goodies in today gmc grill, wingless hinges, victor jr intake, motor mounts, some other ARP bolts and studs. heads will be in next week. shortblock should be done in 3 weeks, cant rush a discounted price. Anyone wanna loan me a garage to work on this thing? Texas weather cant decide what its going to do rain or be nice. pictures will be coming when i actually get to work on it. Any tips or problem areas that yall have run into and dont mind sharing id appreciate it. thanx James
