    2wd conversion

i got a 4x4 with an 8" drop, i notched the rear of the truck to get her on the ground, the 4x4 works perfectly but i want to get rid of it
how would i go about converting it to 2wd? what would i have to do and how much $$ am i looking at

i yanked the air ride setup off my sonoma so im looking to use it on the blazer

the front suspension on a 4x4 is completely different then a 2wd, however if you want to pull the 4x4 you can take out the front drive shaft, transfer case, and cv shafts. you need to keep the outer shaft that goes through the wheel bearing. However, you can cut the CV shaft hub part off.

i was thinking of switching out the drive shaft with a 2wd extended cab s10 and swapping all the front end components with mine, and getting rid of the transfer case and bars.

either that or getting a junk frame that took a shot in the rear and cutting my front, and the front to the 2wd frame and welding them together

lol or my 3rd option...just buy a 2wd frame for a grand and swap the body onto it with the engine and tranny

either way im lookin at a ton of work, and in the end it will all be worth it

dude i just told you above, the wil NOT work! 4x4 front suspension is not even close to the same as a 2wd. If you want a 2wd i would just hunt a frame down or do a new front clip.

I know on a 72 c10 blazer, Chevy drilled the frames the same for either 4wd or 2wd. but I think if it was that easy on a s10 blazer phatfarmer2 would have done it. don't you?
