warren, I would like to know where you got your Sy/Ty drop information. I have verified that its 100% incorrect. The Ty key (GM part number 15684327) is exactly the same as the stock 4x4 key. The indexing is the same as well as the entire key itself. Here are a few pics of the stock key I pulled off of my Blazer tonight as well as brand new #15684327's with the tag still on it even. Maybe the part number is incorrect?? I just want to know where you have heard this or if something is incorrect along the way.

Sorry the tag is hard to read. Sorry Blazin89, these are goin back to GM ASAP... I'll try something different.

Sorry to post a link to another site, but there's a pic on it that shows two different keys. I think it said that the yellow one was different. Maybe this is of some help.

88 Blazer 2dr, 4.3, 4x4, baby crap two tone, future plans include swaybars, AWD, lowering 3", and eventually a V8.

I found it a while back on Blainlow.com and S-series.com I had it written down and when i did my How To: i decided to post it. Im very sorry for any trouble this has caused anyone, i will change it ASAP. I did not use the keys to drop my Jimmy so i had no chance to prove it incorrect tell now.

Monday I am gonna go check on what is referred to as "red dotted" Typhoon keys... I'll see whats different about them. From information I have gathered, the yellow dot is used in 2nd gens, and the blue dot in 1st gens. You can use the blue dotted ones to drop 2nd gens. I will find out about these mysterious "red dotted" ones and see how they compare to the stock blue ones.

Is there a difference between the yellow(2nd Gen) and blue(1st Gen) ones?

yes, the blue ones will lower a 2nd gen a tiny bit. Probably about 1/2 to 3/4 inch. Then it will sit how a 1st gen does.

okay, so if I do the torsion bars thing, I can get the front end down 2 inches. Now where can I get some cheap lowering blocks to get the rear down 2 inches?

Oh god thats the dumbest thing ever. Man 5 minutes with 2 bolts, you could have the same ride height but still have working suspension...
You might as well bungie cord your rear axle housing against the bumpstops

Well said... Vehicles have suspensions for a reason! Remember that.
