Truck runs then dies, runs then dies

I have a 94. Just started doing this. Runs great for a while, then it has no throttle after say 1/4 of the way open. Kinda peeters out until it stalls.
I can put it in neutral, turn it off, start it up and it's fine for a bit longer. Over and over. The motor has no throttle when it starts to act this way. Won't rev, unless I turn it off a sacond, then start it again. I changed the MAP, Distributor, Spider ASSY, and coil. Fuel pump has 20-30k on it. What should I check? I can get parts for just about free to swap out.

fuel pressure gauge, see if it dips down. Unhook the air intake to make sure its not restriced, if you feel like it, loosen the manifold bolts so air can escape around it so u know if your exhaust is clogged or not.

I thought about that stuff. I have a big K&N filter, not that. I can turn the truck off then start it right again and it's fine for a bit longer. Got to be electrical.

u dont think it can be exhaust? If that spide assy has leaked in the past it could havae destoryed and plugged your cat; Just a suggestion, doesnt happen that often.

I was told the converter was gutted when I bought it from my friend who was the second owner. I sounds like it was. I'll have to run it until it dies out and check to see if it's glowing red. It runs fine when it's cold, then gets worse. I had the converter break on my Z24 last month so I know what it does. Kinda of the same thing only it was like that all the time. And turning it off and starting again didn't help like it does for my truck. I'll have to check that though. Maybe she was wrong.

just check fuel pressure first, that the biggest chance of what it may be and that will eleminate alot of things. If it has jank o2;s or circuit it would most likely be flaging a rich or lean 02 code. And finally if your exhaust is getting plugged it will make since if oyu shut it off and fire it back up because its going to loose the pressure than build up again. and it most likely wont glow red but anythings possible.

ediit- and more importantly check the fuel volume, psi isnt everything, if you can bleed it off fromt the gauge and fill about a 1/2 quart if i remember right in 30 seconds your doing alright.

If you have one available I would change the throttle position sensor and see what happens it could be the problem.

OK, My dad drove it around for a hour yesterday and it was fine. Cat was gutted as I was told. I had to check for myself. Got the pump out and am waiting for the new one to get here. I got an easy access hole so not too big deal to pull it. If that don't work the TPS is next.

Fuel Pump seems to have fixed it. Put 100 miles on it and it ran fine. Truck just rolled 240K original miles. I just put a new pump in 20k ago. Got a new one under warranty.
