    Rear End Help

The 10 bolt on my 1998 tahoe is on its way out so I want to upgrade it. I dont know much at all about rear ends so any help is appreciatted. I want to put a 14 bolt with a 6 lug pattern so I can keep my wheels but every junkyard around me tells me they dont exist. Is there a way to change from the 8 lug that they all are to a 6 lug? Or if anybody knows of a 14 bolt with a 6x5.5 bolt pattern that is for sale that would help me out big time. They came off a 1988-2000 2500 series but like I said most of them are 8 lug with a 10.5" housing I need the 6 lug with a 9.5" housing.

$2500 will buy you what you need 12 bolt cut down, perches relocated , your choice of posi's and gear ratio's. 14 bolt to fit a little more. Let me know, I only have a few left!
    PS axles included

the only problem with the rear end from an SS is its a 2wd I need a 4wd. The one out of the newer SS trucks would probably work since those are AWD but the chances of finding one of those are even less likely.

I went through all this when my rear in my 96 tahoe went. Although I never found that rear. I think unless your putting or plan on putting some serious power to it, its really not worth the screwing around. That rear will get another 180,000 miles out of the next one. I ended up just puting a better limited slip in. The govern locked one is crap. Seems to hold up.

I ended up finding a 14 bolt 6 lug at a junk yard with same gears I have now. Cleaned it up, threw some disc brakes on it and its getting installed as we speak. Ordered a nice Mag Tech cover but it seems Mag Tech is so far behind that I have no word on when its coming in.
