    2nd Gen Swap

Ok so I've been debating this swap for a long time. I have a 2gen body but 1st gen lights on the blazer. I want to redo everything from the rad core to the front. Where are the best places to pick up these items? I found a rad core for 45 on ebay. Are there any unknown/hidden problems I need to worry about?

So do you want to 'upgrade' it to the 95-97 composite headlights or the 98+ composite headlights?

    95-97

I would like to do the 98+. I know they are pretty much the same after 98 but are there any specific year for parts or just get a whole bunch that will fit? Sorry I'm like uber n00b when it comes to body work. I'm not a mechanic nor do I want to be. I'm a fireman and I get to cut up cars, never really put them together. Give me a house, light it on fire and I'll put it out.

To do the 98+ conversion you will need a new grille, headlights, turn signals, radiator core support, and bumper/airdam if you want to do it fully. As far as differences... I believe all 98+ front ends fit the same, but the do make different grilles. There is a mesh grille available and a bar grille. ALSO: the blazer and the S-10 front ends are different. My friend bought a blazer front grille for his s-10 and it didnt fit right. So if you do upgrade make sure you stay with the blazer or the s-10 front.

That helps me out alot. I'll probably start buying the stuff so I can do this this winter. It's my daily driver so it might not be done till I get my vacation hours which is in January/February time. Anyone in or near Erie interested in helping me out? Always some beer involved! Also how about the lights? is the Wiring bad at all?

Yeah I was looking at that. Still had to make sure of the little stuff. I most likely going to buy all new parts. I had some people tell me to goto a junkyard but I want quality.
