and while you have the heads off....i got mine cleaned and re-vavled....when i filled the intake and exhaust ports with water(on a bench, not on the motor) i found that i had 1 exhaust and 2 intake valves leaking.....and i had a set of LS1 heavy duty valve springs put on makes my valve lift good to .600, shich i most likely will not get to............but the 1.6s will about max out the stock valve springs....so if a cam is in the future which is sounds like it is...put some better springs on there while it is apart....

sorry for the short book...i just did the 1.6s so i have a lot of input right now
im prolly going to be getting a new set of heads. our parts supplier said he could get me a deal. if not i might know a guy that can get me them 15% over cost through the gm parts department.

are those aluminum vortecs or just iron ones painted silver?

also found some guide plates on summit.

all i would need is somethign like this then some non self aligning rockers? if so this would save me like 60 bucks

make the rockers i want go from 330 to 270

a part number would prolly give me all the info i need.

also any reason why you went with the ones you did?

im thinking about going with the comp cams pro magniums because they are stronger then aluminum and weigh less
