Thread: Please take a look if your doing a V8 conversion on a S10/Blazer

    need help have a 85 s-10 blazer 4x4 im going to put a 305 in it but i dont know what trans i should use? i can get a 4.3 tran 4x4 (from a newer blazer) and a 700r4 what one would be better to put in and what one would be easier? thanks 4 the info in advance

    how new of a blazer.......if its got the 4l60e or whatever it is you will need a stand alone computer to run it.....and they are around 800 dollars.......so if your not gonna put a computer controlled engine out of a donar car with all the comp and wiring i would suggest running the 700r for less trouble and money

    You need to get a 700r from a camaro take the output shaft out of the exisiting trans then put it in the camaro trans. you need the bellhousing from the camaro to bolt up to the 305. you need to buy the 4x4 oil pan and a oil filter adapter also motor mnts

    the 305 and trans (700r4) were from the camaro. and 4 the 4x4 oil pan i planned on taking out the front axle so do u think i will still need the 4x4 pan? thankz again

    can i use 2 wheel drive headers if the front axels are completely gone?

    You are still going to have trouble clearing the x member and oil filter

    ok im not sure what i need? i have a 87 s10 blazer w/ a 2.8, i have run/work 350+700r4 what do i need for the conversion?

    oil pan, for a 4x4 , a output shaft from your 700r4 that was hooked up to the 2.8. that needs to be installed in the new 700r.
    you need an exhaust and a radiator.

    350 - .30 over, KB flatops, 487 heads bowl ported & polished, mild 204I/214E cam, Edelbrock intake, Holley 4160 w/1" spacer, 200r4, 3:42. true 2.5 duals with turndowns. Just getting started

    I have a 91 with a 4.3L. I took out the engine and motor mounts and was told to get the 2.8 mounts for the v8. Is this correct? thanks

    yep that is correct. they should bolt right to frame.

    hey guys, i have a 97 4.3 2wd blazer with a 4l60e tranny. what all will i need to get to run a E.F.I. v8 (305 or 350/LT-1)and what will i need to run carb. v8? and if yall know any i would love to know prices.

    hey for some reason i have asked everyone how to wire a lt-1 into a 92 blazer, which wire goes where and no responce they say go buy the conversion book or manuals so i found a site and they got the how to so i will share it with everyone so enjoy
