Yep, on the pressured side of the system and it will leak it out. Glad ya found it tho. First time I had it happen I thought I didn't tighten up the oil filter and swapped it out. That didn't work I figured some of the gasket might have got left on and even tho I checked it I missed it. Needless to say took me a bit to figure out.

You go get the new sender make sure which one you got, there is a single, double, and triple prong one and they are gonna ask.

is there any easy way to change it since you have experience. It looks like a tight place and I have some big hands. may have to get my dad to help out or a friend.

I just jacked the truck up and used a big ass deep barrel socket with some extensions and wobbles. Sorry don't remember the size right off hand but I had to get into dad's 1/2 drive stuff he uses at work so I know it was a pretty big size.

Well didnt get the oil pressure switch changed this weekend, no where within a 60 mile radius had a socket big enough to fit this monster of an oil pressure switch. So hopefully when carquest opens up monday morning Ill get one from them.

But on a side note, i did get some u joints changed and a big freaking blood blister from a hammer today.

Can someone switch this thread to a member project section, I may start working on it in a couple of weeks, no since in starting a new thread i dont guess.

Finally got the oil pressure switch fixed, still got a small oil leak from the same spot, Im gona change the valve covers this weekend, maybe thats where its leaking at?

But just the check my oil pressure when idleing shows around 40-50 is that normal my old blazer with the 4.3 showed like 20-30. When Im driving its almost 70.

And what is the normal operating temp of a 2.8, mine has never gotten above 170 or 180 probably. Thinking about changing the temp sending unit just to be safe.

Mine at idle is around 50....and it's a high mileage engine.
Temp sits at 180 all day long, even when it's 115 out. I know it works because when it's cold you can see the temp gauge go up, and then the thermostat opens up, and back down to 180 we go.

    Soooo....sounds normal.

All I done was cut a bracket out of an old air cleaner and pop riveted it to the bottom of the open element one. More pics
