the noise i am hearing happens LONG before it hits the bracketry. i know when it hits the bracketry, i can FEEL that hit. this is a low speed, high speed, tiny bump, RATTLE. almost like a bad ball joint or 2WD wheel bearing, or a swaybar endlink.

ok. i will do that tomorrow.

now, i've already asked if 2wd control arms fit a 4x4 frame, and came up with a general consensus of "no". what if i bought 4 2wd ball joints, 2 2wd spindles, 4 4wd control arm bushings, and a handfull of tubing?

would it be possible to fabricate a set of upper and lower control arms that used the factory 4wd frame mounts, but mounted to a 2wd spindle?

now i know there is no frame pocket for the spring, but if i were to move the shock to the back edge of the lower control arm, reusing a 4wd shock, reusing the 4wd sway bar, and box the lower control arm for a bag, and put a "rear" universal upper bag mount on the frame rail inside the upper control arm...

am i imagining things or is this really easier than it seems? why hasn't anyone done this?

i also notice the part numbers for the tie rod ends are not the same... i dont forsee that being an incredible issue, i'd have to swap out some of the steering components... no biggie

whats the diameter of the stock swaybar? i am thinking of just ordering a set of polyurethane bushings, but i see they come in a variety of diameters. i dont have any calipers on hand to measure it right now.

and what brand ball joints do you run? i bought a set of the cheap ones to get me by, but they sound like they are bad again... its only been about 400 miles, but i've trimmed the frame brackets, gutted the axles, checked all the bushings, and made sure everything was tight. i'm either checking them wrong, or they are "maxing" out against themselves.

like a moog balljoint or equivillant.

ps, i had to replace my starter the other day and i also have rub marks from the tie rod, so i guess dont be alarmed by it.

looks like my choices are 25mm and 28mm... i've googled this, but i cant seem to come up with any answers. i want to get the poly bushings, and a set of moog upper ball joints and see what happens in the front end.

Measured the swaybar, its 1.25 (31.75mm). A little confused... What bushings do I get? 28mm, or 33mm?
