    91 s-15 differential question

My rpo code shows G80 for lsd, but there is no lsd action. I bought it used. It also has the code for open differential. Is it open or likely wore out?

there is no rpo code for an open differential.

you will have a code for a certain gear ratio then another code if you have an LSD

the factory gov-lok carriers are junk. they are a hybrid mechanical locker with clutch packs also.

it is not uncommon for them to fail. some times they fail in the "lock" position but most of the time they fail and then will not function as an LSD any more.

if you are dead set on having a posi i suggest getting one from a 4th gen camaro. the zexel's are good units.

the aburns are a good unit but its damn near impossible to find new clutches for it.
