    Turbo 400 shortail

I have a turbo 400 shortail was wondering if this would still require modifcation to the crossmember and driveshaft i know i will need a new yoke.

Or is it too early to tell? I know a lot of shit depends on when the stuff goes into the truck.

Has anyone ran a turbo 400 without mods?

I believe you will have to modify or buy a crossmember for the tranny. There mounting location is further back. You'll need something like this.

Thank I didnt know they made a part specific to this application. Sorry to not be clear I was mainly talking about getting the driveshaft shorten/lengthened.

I am also reading it is good to go ahead and Drop it before the conversion because that will loose some room due to the suspension moving?

Going with a 5/6 drop. With motor bringing close to 6/6

By far the best book out on these trannys, if you've got a mechanical background/trade this book is great. Even if you not a mechanic get the book and read it from cover to cover. It'll be well worth the time and money
